Happy Monday!
And we all know motivation Monday. I am actually a big believer in Monday and making sure it is a great day.
Why?
Because I personally have seen it both ways.
Scenario 1: You wake up Monday morning feeling refreshed after a great night of sleep. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your workout clothes are laid out, you grab them and head off to your workout with a banana you left on the counter to easily grab.
After your workout, you eat your overnight oats already prepared and head off to work with your healthy lunch made the day before.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After crushing a super productive day at work you come home to make dinner. You have everything ready after having planned your week of meals and getting the ingredients organized in advance.
You have a relaxing evening watching netflix and reading a book before heading to bed to do it all over again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Scenario 2: You wake up frantically after hitting snooze 10 times because you stayed up too late on Sunday.
This means your workout will have to happen after work because you don't have time to do it in the morning now.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You forgot to meal prep so you stop at the drive through to grab a muffin and a coffee to get you through the morning at work.
Lunch is takeout as well and then you hit the gym for a sluggish workout wishing you could take a nap instead.
Now you get home and eat supper while meal prepping for the rest of the week because you are behind and get to bed late again due to all of this.
Scenario 2 happened to be often in my early and mid twenties. And it still happens now and then. Usually because of drinks, food and late Saturday nights.
Scenario 1 happens most of the time and scenario 1.5 happens more than 1 (have some drinks and food Saturday but get on track Sunday).
But when I wake up rested on Monday morning and crush my workout and to do list, it's like I am on top of the world.
It sets the tone for the week and you are ahead of schedule rather than playing catch up.
Now a lot of people think they need motivation first.
When really they need action first because action leads to motivation, not the other way around.
So all you need to do on a Monday (or any day) is take a small action that will leads to some progress to your goals.
And then motivation is likely to follow!
And if you aren't sure what actions to take, just ask. That is what we are here for.
But just know that there is never going to be a perfect time. Today is as good of a day as any,
Have a great day
Matt
